My move from the Vancouver academy to Victoria academy

Though I started my Capoeira training with Professor Barrãozinho, I feel my axe and skills have been rooted in the Vancouver academy.

I am finding the training given by Professor Testa is not only technical and rigorous but also 100% Axe style.  Though I do miss my home and friends in Vancouver, I have been welcomed with nothing but warmth and kindness from the students and teachers.

I’m not telling everyone to move to Victoria though that would be nice, what I am saying is that I have been training and do not feel  my skills have been lacking simply because I am being taught by a different teacher.

I would like to think that my game has opened up even just a little bit and is slowly forming a 2601a not a 2805.

I think that though the Masters, Professors, Instructors and all that follow are looking at the same Capoeira (Axe Capoeira) they are all seeing a different things.

I’m happy to be able to train under Professor Testa who is looking at the same Capoeira as my teacher, but yet teaching me something different.
