Healthy Feet
i've been noticing that people's feet are really tore up from using them all the time and being outside on the cement. they might be tired, calloused, bruised or injured.
according to traditional chinese medicine, injuries can cause qi, blood and fluid stagnation in the injured area. if you don't take care of it, you will easily re-injure the area, lose mobility and flexibility and in your old age, you're gonna really feel it...bone deep!
here's something you can do easily at home....MASSAGE....MASSAGE....MASSAGE
you might even consider this
1. soak your feet in some warm water with a good quality epsom salt or dead seas salt
2. after drying it, massage with some chinese liniment like a tie da jiao (medicated oil/alcohol, or something like the arnica y belladonna ointment i saw at the academy. afterwards, wrap feet in saran or plastic wrap overnight or atleast an hour
3. if you want to take it a step further, after the liniment, melt some wax with the double boiler method, in a bowl that you don't want anymore and big enough to fit your foot. i prefer beeswax to paraffin because its natural, but its a bit pricey. dip your foot into the melted wax careful not to burn yourself. take your foot out and let the wax cool. then wrap in saran wrap or plastic bag and put on some socks, and leave for atleast an hour or overnight. (they do this at the spas to seal in moisture.
4. take the stuff off and you will have happy feet!
note....depending on what you massage into your foot before you put the wax on, the healing properties can go beyond the skin and deeper into the muscles or bone.
